Post-Graduate Work Permit (PGWP) Applicaton

The Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) is a golden opportunity for international students to stay and work in Canada after completing their studies. This open work permit allows graduates of eligible Canadian post-secondary institutions to gain valuable work experience for up to three years, depending on the length of their academic program.

Work experience gained during the PGWP period can significantly boost your chances of qualifying for permanent residency through immigration pathways like the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) or Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

How This Process Works

After successfully completing your program at an eligible Designated Learning Institution, you must apply for a PGWP within 180 days of receiving your final transcript and completion letter.

The length of the PGWP depends on the duration of your program:

  • Programs longer than 8 months but less than 2 years may be eligible for a permit equal to the program length.
  • Programs of 2 years or more may qualify for a 3-year work permit.

You don’t need a job offer to apply, and the permit allows you to work for any employer in any industry, giving you flexibility and time to build your future in Canada.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for a PGWP, you must:

  • Have completed a program that was at least 8 months long at an eligible DLI
  • Apply within 180 days of receiving your confirmation of graduation
  • Have maintained full-time student status throughout your program
  • Hold a valid study permit at some point during your studies

KGH Immigration Ltd. assists graduates in navigating the PGWP process with clarity and confidence. Don’t miss this opportunity, contact us today and secure your future in Canada.
